Roger Few is Professorial Research Fellow in Environment, Risk and Development at the School of International Development, University of East Anglia, UK. He is a social scientist with over 25 years’ research experience, working on the social dimensions of environmental and climatic risk in more than 20 countries. His expertise is particularly on how individuals, communities and organisations respond to hazards, and on the connections between vulnerability, recovery, adaptation, livelihoods and wellbeing.. He has led or co-led around many collaborative projects funded by a wide range of academic funders and international agencies, including UKRI/GCRF, IDRC, EU, DFID, USAID, DANIDA, and UNDP.
Roger plays a key research and management role in DOWN2EARTH. As institutional lead for the University of East Anglia, he serves on the overall executive team for the project. He will take key responsibility for the design, analysis and outputs of D2E’s intensive data collection work taking place in communities within the three countries. He will also provide key advisory and direct inputs into many of the other inter-linked work packages and tasks of the project.
