Dann Mitchell is a NERC fellow and Associate Professor in atmospheric science at the University of Bristol. He is the Met Office joint chair in climate hazards, and the co-lead of the Cabot Institute ‘Natural Hazards and Risk’ theme. He has a strong focus on extreme climate, hazards, and impacts; especially related to health. He is co-founder and coordinator of the Half a Degree additional warming, Prognosis and Projected Impacts (HAPPI) consortium, which is aimed at understanding climate variability under the Paris Agreement climate goals. He is a review editor for the IPCC AR6 WG1 Chapter 3, and has been a contributing author for the IPCC AR5 (detection and attribution chapter) and Special Report on 1.5C (impacts chapter). He is guest editor for Elsevier special issue: ‘UK Climate Risk Assessment and Management’.
On DOWN2EARTH, Dann is working on the development of climate projections for HAD, as part of the Model Development and Climate/Water Data Thematic Teams.
